The Bridge Above the Gorge
Ground notes
Why Singshore & West Sikkim Villages?
The Singshore bridge in West Sikkim is a 198m suspension bridge strung 100m above a precipitous gorge — swaying gently, with mist rising from the valley below and Kanchenjunga framing the north. Around it, the villages of Dentam, Yuksam and Gyalshing are a patchwork of cardamom plantations, Bhutia farmhouses and 17th-century monasteries. This is West Sikkim before the crowds — slower, greener, and completely its own.
