Why Darjeeling?
Perched at 2,042m on a narrow Himalayan ridge, Darjeeling is India's most storied hill station — famous for the eight-minute sunrise at Tiger Hill, the UNESCO toy train that has chugged up the hill since 1881, and a muscatel second flush tea that the rest of the world quietly pays fortunes for. It is a town where monks, planters, poets and photographers have lived alongside one another for generations.
