Why Jaldapara & Buxa?
Jaldapara National Park is home to the largest population of one-horned rhinos in West Bengal — over 250 animals spread across a sal-forest grassland at the foot of the Bhutan hills. Fifty kilometres east, Buxa Tiger Reserve is wilder and less visited: a tiger-corridor forest where the 19th-century Buxa Fort crumbles on a ridge above the jungle. Two days in Jaldapara and one night at Buxa Duar forest camp is the best wildlife weekend in North Bengal.
