Ground notes
Why Kalimpong?
Kalimpong sits at 1,250m on a ridge between the Relli and Teesta rivers — an old trading post on the wool route between Tibet and Bengal. Today it is Darjeeling's calmer cousin: cheese makers, orchid growers, Scottish-founded boarding schools, and Buddhist monasteries that still ring bells at dawn. The Kanchenjunga views from Durpin are, for many travellers, better than Darjeeling's.
